Free Guest Risk Scoring from SafeGuest Aims to Transform Short-Term Rental Safety

SafeGuest, the platform dedicated to protecting short-let hosts and property managers, has unveiled a free Guest Risk Assessment Tool to help users spot potentially high-risk bookings instantly.

By analysing guest ID data, behavioural history, and payment validation, the tool generates a clear Green, Yellow, or Red rating for each booking — helping hosts make smarter, safer choices at no cost.

“For too long, hosts have had to cross their fingers and hope for the best,” said Harry Birks, Founder of SafeGuest. “We’re changing that. Now, any host can know within seconds whether a booking looks safe — and we’ve made it completely free.”

The system links directly with popular PMS platforms like Guesty and Hostfully, enabling hosts to work with risk data inside their existing tools. The underlying technology uses verified data collected during SafeGuest’s rigorous guest screening — including biometric checks and fraud prevention measures.

A Step Forward for Safer Hosting

With ongoing issues in the industry including identity fraud, unapproved events, and property damage, SafeGuest’s approach to proactive screening is quickly becoming essential. The company has already completed over 100,000 guest verifications across the UK, Europe, the US, and the Middle East.

“We’ve had guests who looked fine on the surface, but SafeGuest flagged them as a high risk. It saved us a nightmare,” said Dee Prior, a Berkshire-based Airbnb superhost.

In addition to guest vetting, hosts can select between two protection models: a refundable deposit or a fast, no-claims waiver, which covers up to £250 in accidental guest damages automatically.

    Redefining Standards for Guest Safety

As regulations tighten and professional standards rise across the sector, SafeGuest is helping lead the charge towards safer, more trustworthy short-term rentals.

“The future of short lets depends on trust — and trust starts with knowing who’s staying in your property,” added Birks. “We built SafeGuest to empower hosts, not charge them for peace of mind.”
