- Garmin’s inReach Messenger is down to $249 ($50 off) at REI, Amazon, and Best Buy. The rugged communication device also supports two-way text messaging and the ability to trigger emergency SOS alerts, but it lacks support for advanced mapping functionality. That being said, it offers better battery life than the inReach Mini 2, along with a patch antenna design, which promises better connectivity.
