Oura Ring 3 Horizon drops to $299

The third-generation Oura Ring Horizon — the one that’s more round — is down to $299 ($50 off) at Amazon and Best Buy in silver and black, which is only a few dollars more than the lowest price to date. That brings its price in line with the MSRP of the squared-off “Heritage” version and $50 cheaper than the Oura Ring 4 we just reviewed.

Besides ditching the flat-top design, the Oura Ring 3 Horizon otherwise offers the same vital-tracking experience as the original. It has seven temperature sensors, a blood oxygen-monitoring SpO2 sensor, and a green LED optical heart rate monitor.

Those sensors work in tandem to enable a growing suite of sleep tracking metrics, offering an easily digestible glimpse into the quality of all your slumber stages. It can detect when and for how long you’ve entered REM and deep sleep, for example. Add in heart rate monitoring, and you can see how long it takes your ticker to get to a resting heart rate, or just get a reading on your pulse anytime you want throughout the day. It can also track your step count and predict menstrual cycles.

There’s more the Oura Ring tries to glean about your health, but you’ll want to check out our full review to see whether you find any of its readings a valuable addition to your personal health knowledgebase. Just be prepared to spend $5.99 a month on an Oura membership to keep the readings going after the one-month trial expires.
