The Hisense U7 is a great, very bright midrange 4K TV under $600 for Prime Day

Amazon Prime Day’s best deals may not last for much longer, since the sale ends later tonight. This includes a big discount on the 2025 Hisense U7, a midrange TV that’s seeing deep discounts right now. The 65-inch model is available on Amazon for $797.99, which is almost 50 percent off its original. And the 55-inch is under $600. That’s a lot of performance for the money, and I’ll tell you why.

In previous years, a lower price generally meant a less bright TV, and while that’s still true to an extent, the Hisense U7 is still capable of close to 3,000 nits. That’s plenty bright for any viewing situation. The TV also has full HDR support, including Dolby Vision and HDR10 Plus. Local dimming performance delivers impressive black levels, although the screen has a glossy finish, so ensure that any direct light sources (for instance, a window or a lamp) are off to the side, or their reflections will be distracting.

The U7QG works well as a TV for gaming. The panel has a native 165Hz refresh rate for PC gamers (higher than the 144Hz we see from many competitors), and it supports variable refresh rate with FreeSync and is certified G-Sync compatible. All four of the U7QG’s HDMI inputs are version 2.1, to allow high refresh rates at 4K on all inputs. Some competitors still only have two HDMI 2.1 ports, making it tough to decide which devices to delegate to the last-gen ports.

The U7QG doesn’t quite measure up against its direct competitors, namely the $447.99 TCL QM6K and the $598 QM7K, when it comes to fast-moving images. For people with a discerning eye for detail, certain things may appear blurrier on the U7 than you’d prefer. Still, this is a great value if you want a bright TV with a faster refresh rate than most options offer at this price point.
