YouTube Music’s ‘Personal Radio’ mix shares your favorite songs with the world

YouTube Music is rolling out a new “Personal Radio” feature that lets you broadcast daily playlists based on your favorite tunes for others to play. The new feature, discovered by a Reddit user last week, is starting to appear on some YouTube Music user Channel pages — where you’d normally go to check out your top music stats.

As reported by 9to5Google, Personal Radio is the newest addition to YouTube Music’s profiles page, which launched in April of last year. Personal Radio, like stats, are set to private by default, so users must update their Channel settings if they want it to appear for others, as outlined in an updated YouTube Music help page.

Once the feature is available, you can turn it on by going to your profile icon in YouTube Music, selecting Settings, going to Privacy and location, and then selecting Channel settings. From there, turn on “Enable public stats” or “Enable public personal radio.”

While Personal Radio is new to YouTube Music, the most popular music streaming service, Spotify, already has similar social features. For instance, Spotify’s Friends Mix and Blend features lets you and your friends mix favorite tracks together to help each other discover music.
